Backend Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Developer to join our growing engineering team. This role is ideal for an experienced software engineer who enjoys designing scalable backend solutions, building cloud-native applications, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products. The successful candidate will have strong experience with Node.js, AWS serverless technologies, modern development practices, and a passion for solving complex technical challenges., The Senior Backend Developer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable backend services that support enterprise-level applications. This role works closely with frontend developers, architects, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders to build secure, reliable, and high-performing cloud solutions.

• Develop and support cloud-native applications utilizing AWS serverless technologies.
• Build and maintain APIs and backend integrations supporting enterprise applications.
• Develop and optimize solutions using AWS services including:
• Lambda
• DynamoDB
• S3
• EventBridge
• Kinesis
• Design efficient data models and write SQL queries against relational databases.
• Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement long-term solutions.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure seamless integration between application layers.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions.
• Develop clean, reusable, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Perform code reviews and mentor junior developers when appropriate.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Continuously improve application performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems.

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DHS Public Trust clearance.
• Preference will be given to candidates with an active or recently held ICE or CBP Public Trust clearance, allowing for a faster onboarding process.
• Candidates must be able to successfully complete all required background investigations and security screening necessary to support federal government contracts., * Bachelor’’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience using Node.js.
• Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience working with React in a development environment.
• Minimum 3 years of experience developing cloud-native applications using AWS services, including:
• Lambda
• DynamoDB
• Amazon S3
• EventBridge
• Kinesis
• Minimum 2 years of experience working with AWS cloud development tools.
• Minimum 1 year of experience writing SQL and working with relational database structures.
• Strong understanding of software architecture and distributed systems.
• Ability to understand complex business processes and translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Proven experience researching technical issues, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to changing technical environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
• Passion for solving complex software engineering challenges while contributing to a collaborative team environment., * Experience developing Single Page Applications (SPA) and related frameworks/libraries.
• Experience working within Agile development environments.
• Experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools including:
• Git
• Jenkins
• CloudBees
• Experience with testing frameworks including:
• React Testing Library
• Jest
• Strong experience designing and working with relational database structures.
• Experience with Amazon DynamoDB data modeling and optimization.
• Experience developing applications within AWS serverless architectures.
• Experience supporting enterprise or federal government applications is a plus.
