Job description

We are seeking a Senior Software Test & Verification Engineer to join a high-performing Ground Software Engineering team supporting advanced satellite and ground system software solutions for government and commercial programs.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced development environment leveraging modern technologies, architectures, and tools. The team follows Agile methodologies within a CI/CD ecosystem incorporating automated testing, vulnerability scanning, and quality assurance processes. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Systems Engineering and Software Development teams to deliver automated regression testing solutions and high-quality software products., * Lead the development, review, and execution of software verification activities, including Test Cases, Test Procedures, and Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs).

  • Lead software test teams in formal verification of software requirements.
  • Manage and support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) activities, including maintaining test logs and daily status reporting.
  • Document issues, defects, and problem reports using configuration and change management tools.
  • Provide regular reporting on verification status, issue trends, and program progress to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Track and manage open defects and verification issues through resolution to support program milestones and deliverables.
  • Analyze and support internal and customer-reported software issues, coordinating across software, systems engineering, simulation, and integration teams.
  • Prepare and release required software lifecycle documentation in accordance with organizational processes and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with software development and verification processes and support internal and external audits.
  • Lead the development of Software Verification Lifecycle documentation.
  • Support Change Control Board (CCB) activities related to software verification.
  • Assist with planning and delivery of verification artifacts, including verification plans, requirements documentation, deviation reports, and test reports.

Requirements

This position requires extensive experience across the software development lifecycle, strong technical leadership capabilities, exceptional troubleshooting skills, and the ability to drive verification activities from planning through execution and delivery., * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
  • 5+ years of experience leading or executing automated, functional, integration, and end-to-end testing activities.
  • 5+ years of experience across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, development, integration, and testing.
  • 3+ years of software development experience using Java, C++, and/or Python.
  • Experience working within Agile software development environments and DevOps practices., * Experience serving as a Product Owner, Technical Lead, Integration Lead, or Test Lead on complex software programs.
  • Knowledge of Command and Control (C2) systems, real-time applications, and mission-critical environments.
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, messaging platforms (Kafka, ActiveMQ), and data streaming technologies.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of requirements decomposition, allocation, traceability, and verification throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and test automation solutions.
  • Experience leading formal acceptance testing activities, including:
  • Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
  • Formal Qualification Testing (FQT)
  • Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
  • Active security clearance is a plus.
