Job description

As an IT Technician within our Multi-Academy Trust, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation of IT systems across a cluster of schools. Working closely with staff, students, and senior leaders, you will provide first and second-line technical support, maintain hardware and software, and help ensure a secure, reliable, and effective IT environment., * Operational management of IT Services to support teaching and learning, business and administrative functions across the five primary schools.

  • Provide technical support, responding to users’ helpdesk requests in a timely and effective manner to minimise any disruption to teaching, learning or administration.
  • Monitor the performance and fitness for purpose of end-user devices and peripherals, resolving hardware and software faults, finding temporary workarounds where necessary and escalating to the United Learning Technology Specialist team when required
  • With the support of the Business Managers and school Principals, help to develop a sustainable strategy for refresh, taking into account educational requirements, emerging technologies and affordability.
  • Monitor and manage network stability and performance in each of the schools.
  • Implement change requests in each of the schools as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with backup, anti-virus and other security provisions in each of the schools following United Learning’s Digital Standards.

Requirements

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated Senior IT Technician, who is proactive and has excellent customer service skills. This role requires an IT professional, who has substantial experience in technical support., This is a varied and hands-on role that requires excellent problem-solving skills, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to manage priorities across multiple sites. You will support classroom technology, network infrastructure, devices, and digital learning platforms, helping to enhance teaching, learning, and operational efficiency across the Trust, and other IT support.

The successful candidate will be a proactive team player with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality support in a busy educational environment., This post may involve both evening and weekend work and the post holder will need to demonstrate a large degree of flexibility and willingness to work unsocial hours. The need to adapt working hours around the business need of the schools is an expectancy of the job role.
