Job description

We’re a fast-growing, seed-stage AI startup automating inside sales processes - quoting, order handling, and product matching - for distributors and manufacturers. Our platform integrates deeply into enterprise ERP and CRM systems (including SAP and Oracle) and is trusted by a growing number of customers across industries like HVAC, electrical, and building materials. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you’ll be the critical technical bridge between our AI product and its real-world deployment inside complex enterprise environments. You’ll own the full implementation lifecycle - from sales handoff to go-live - working directly with customers every day while feeding insights back to the core engineering team. This is a high-ownership, high-impact role at the intersection of engineering, product, and customer success. What You’ll Do Own end-to-end technical implementation of customer deployments, from initial handoff through go-live. Configure and fine-tune AI models for customer-specific use cases, including prompt engineering and model behavior adjustments. Structure customer data and build system integrations with platforms like SAP and various REST/GraphQL APIs. Interpret unstructured RFQs (PDFs, emails, Excel files) and translate them into automated quoting workflows. Develop prototypes to demonstrate new features or solve emerging customer problems, then evolve them into scalable solutions. Engage daily with technical users and senior business stakeholders to translate real pain points into engineering decisions. Act as the voice of the customer internally, surfacing product gaps and patterns to the core engineering team.

Requirements

Required: Native fluency in German (non-negotiable). Strong full-stack engineering skills - comfortable with Python, React, TypeScript, SQL, and APIs across frontend, backend, and data pipelines. Proven experience delivering customer-facing software deployments and gathering client requirements. Hands-on experience with system integrations: ERP systems, REST/GraphQL APIs, webhooks, or B2B SaaS implementations. Ability to wrangle messy, inconsistent real-world data and establish reliable structures quickly. Practical experience with LLMs, AI agents, and prompt engineering, with ability to adapt model behavior to specific domains. Excellent written and verbal communication skills - able to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. High agency and ownership mindset; proactively identifies and drives solutions without needing explicit direction. Comfortable with ambiguity, imperfect data, and legacy systems; scrappy and resourceful problem-solver. Willingness to work on-site in Munich with a high-intensity work ethic. Nice to Have: Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and reinforcement learning, particularly product-matching engines. Background in distribution, manufacturing, or industrial sales technology.

Benefits & conditions

Salary: €90,000 - €200,000 annually, depending on experience. Opportunity to make a direct, lasting impact at an early-stage company in a high-growth market. Work closely with a lean, high-caliber team with backgrounds spanning top consulting firms, enterprise software, and applied research.
