NOC Tech II

• Intermediate Knowledge of the OSI Model.
• Intermediate knowledge of TDM, SONET ,DWDM and other Transport fundamentals.

• Intermediate knowledge of Network Equipment configuration and troubleshooting

• Intermediate knowledge of IP troubleshooting procedures to include NE configuration, VLANS, Static and DHCP IP addressing, email/hosting, DNS and DSLAMS
• Intermediate knowledge in troubleshooting procedures Voice switching systems.
• Experience working in a Service Provider, ISP, Carrier, or Telecommunications environment.
• NOC II or NOC III level experience.
• Strong knowledge of Routing & Switching within service provider networks.
• Experience supporting backbone network infrastructure.

• Hands-on experience with:

• BGP (Border Gateway Protocol)
• MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching)
• VPLS (Virtual Private LAN Service)
• Experience using SolarWinds for network monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals.
• Experience troubleshooting network outages, latency, and routing issues.
