Job description
Join a growing technology services provider with an experienced network support team delivering secure and reliable solutions for customers. The organisation is looking for a technical leader to help drive service improvements, resolve complex issues, and strengthen network operations. This opportunity is ideal for a Senior Network Engineer looking to take ownership as the top escalation point within a 3rd and 4th line support function. The role involves working extensively with Fortinet technologies, leading proactive improvement initiatives, identifying recurring issues, and enhancing the overall reliability of customer environments. Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity and apply today! Responsibilities:
- Own 3rd and 4th line escalations across the Fortinet estate, the senior technical authority on the team
- Drive proactive support, identify recurring issues, run BAU improvement projects, and reduce ticket volume before it happens
- Manage and support FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSD-WAN, and FortiSASE environments
- Support SD-WAN deployments and ongoing management across the customer base
- VPN configuration, management, and troubleshooting across the estate
- Use LogicMonitor or PRTG for network monitoring and performance visibility
- Support the project team when required, dip into project delivery alongside BAU
- Contribute to a staggered shift pattern, 7am-5:30pm across a team of six
- FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSD-WAN, FortiSASE
- VPN, LogicMonitor / PRTG
- Meraki, Cisco, HPE Aruba / Silverpeak SD-WAN
Requirements
- Deep Fortinet expertise, FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and SD-WAN hands-on experience
- SD-WAN experience essential, Fortinet SD-WAN preferred, Meraki or HPE Aruba Silverpeak also considered
- Consultant or senior engineer background happy to step into a senior support-focused role
- Proactive mindset, you look for root causes and fix them, not just close the ticket
- VPN configuration and troubleshooting experience across the Fortinet stack
- LogicMonitor or PRTG monitoring platform experience beneficial
- Fortinet NSE5 certification preferred, other NSE certs considered
- Comfortable in a staggered shift environment, 7am-5:30pm rotated across the team
Benefits & conditions
- Almost entirely Fortinet, if that’s your world, this role lets you live in it
- Proactive support focus, you’re improving the network, not just firefighting
- Just one day a week in the office, genuinely flexible working arrangement
- Skilled, established team, you’re joining peers, not carrying juniors
- Project team exposure, variety without it being a pure delivery role
- Senior technical authority, real escalation ownership, not another mid-level support seat, * £55,000 base salary
