Senior Manufacturing Software Engineer

A global manufacturing organization is seeking a Manufacturing Software Engineer to lead the development and deployment of advanced software solutions that automate the conversion of product design data into manufacturing-ready instructions and process models.

This highly visible role will play a key part in accelerating new product introductions, reducing manufacturing costs, and advancing digital transformation initiatives across global operations. The Manufacturing Software Engineer will collaborate closely with product design, manufacturing engineering, quality, and operations teams to develop software platforms supporting process planning, CNC programming, quality control systems, and manufacturing execution activities.

In addition, this role will support metrology and gauging software applications while providing technical support to manufacturing facilities worldwide.

Key ResponsibilitiesSoftware Development & Automation

• Lead the development and deployment of software platforms that convert product geometry and tooling data into:
• Manufacturing process models
• Work instructions
• Production-ready manufacturing data
• Develop software solutions that automatically generate:
• Operator instructions
• CNC programs
• Gauging programs
• Quality process control plans
• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance metrology and gauging software applications using:
• C++
• C#
• .NET technologies
• Integrate software systems with manufacturing hardware, including:
• Data acquisition systems
• Instrumentation
• Motor drives
• Sensors
• External I/O devices

Manufacturing Process Development

• Collaborate with manufacturing and process engineering teams to develop analytical process models across multiple manufacturing disciplines.
• Define manufacturing equipment capabilities, routing logic, and process rules to ensure alignment with production scheduling and manufacturing execution systems.
• Partner with product design teams to establish dimensional data requirements and ensure the accurate translation of engineering designs into manufacturing processes.
• Support new product launches and manufacturing startup activities through process automation and technical problem-solving.

Leadership & Project Management

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to an international software development team supporting global manufacturing operations.
• Manage technical projects using structured project management methodologies, including:
• Project planning
• Resource allocation
• Risk management
• Corrective action tracking
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, operations, and IT teams to ensure successful deployment and adoption of software solutions.

Continuous Improvement & Technical Support

• Support manufacturing facilities worldwide by troubleshooting software, process, and operational issues affecting production performance.
• Develop and implement system enhancements that improve:
• Manufacturing efficiency
• Product quality
• Time-to-market performance
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on:
• Digital manufacturing
• Process optimization
• Operational excellence

• Bachelor’s degree in:
• Mechanical Engineering
• Manufacturing Engineering
• Or a related technical discipline
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in:
• Software development
• Manufacturing engineering
• Industrial automation
• Or a related technical environment
• Strong software development experience with:
• C++
• C#
• .NET
• Visual Studio
• Windows-based application development
• Experience integrating software solutions with:
• Manufacturing equipment
• Machine controls
• Instrumentation
• Industrial hardware
• Knowledge of:
• Manufacturing processes
• Machine control systems
• Automation technologies
• System integration principles
• Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Demonstrated analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills in manufacturing environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, operations, quality, IT, and software development teams.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to domestic and international manufacturing facilities (less than 5%).
