Job description

The Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston seeks a talented and forward-thinking Lead Application Analyst to play a pivotal role in advancing the technology solutions that power our mission. This position combines application support, business process optimization, and technology innovation, offering the opportunity to design and deliver solutions that enhance efficiency, collaboration, and organizational effectiveness across the Archdiocese. The Lead Application Analyst will identify business needs, streamline workflows, and leverage Microsoft technologies and related platforms to drive meaningful operational improvements. Located at the Downtown Chancery, this role offers technology professionals a unique opportunity to apply their expertise in a mission-driven environment where their work has a lasting impact. The solutions developed and supported by the IT team extend beyond a traditional corporate setting, helping enable the vital work of parishes, schools, ministries, and administrative departments throughout the Archdiocese. This is an opportunity to combine technical leadership, innovation, and service to support the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston and its parishes, schools, seminary, administration offices and ministry offices. This position reports to and is directed by the Manager of Applications and DB Support

This Lead Application Analyst is a full-time, no less than 40 hours per week, benefits and PTO eligible position. Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church preferred.

Essential Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Analyze, maintain, and support business applications while ensuring data integrity and

alignment with organizational requirements.

  • Provide end-user support and troubleshooting for application and system-related issues.
  • Utilize Microsoft 365 technologies, including Power Automate and other Power Platform

solutions, to streamline business processes and improve operational efficiency.

  • Lead process automation initiatives and technology improvement projects.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, including functional specifications, process

maps, procedures, and training materials.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify requirements and recommend effective

technology solutions.

  • Utilize PowerShell and other automation tools to develop and implement innovative

solutions.

  • Support, maintain, and enhance database systems and related applications.
  • Participate in application upgrades, implementations, testing, and integration activities.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting business applications and working directly with end users.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to document business and technical processes effectively.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 technologies.
  • Experience with Power Automate and other Microsoft Power Platform solutions.

  • Basic proficiency with SQL Server.
  • Basic proficiency with PowerShell scripting.
  • Experience supporting SharePoint environments.
  • Understanding database concepts and data management best practices.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
  • Initiative to identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality customer service and technical support.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Information

Technology, or a related field.

  • Minimum of one year of experience in business systems analysis, application support, or

a related technical role.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Information

Technology, or a related field is required with a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in business systems analysis, application support, or a related technical role. Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and reliable transportation to travel to various Chancery locations.
