Job description

  • Provide expert-level administration of RedHat Linux systems, ensuring optimal performance and security.\n
  • Perform systems enhancement, configuration, maintenance, installation, and software upgrades.\n
  • Lead a team of high-performing Linux administrators, providing guidance, technical expertise, and project leadership.\n
  • Foster a collaborative and productive team environment, sharing lessons learned and best practices.\n
  • Maintain and manage the Enterprise Satellite server, ensuring it meets the organization’s software deployment and updates needs.\n
  • Automate routine and complex tasks using Ansible, streamlining operations and improving efficiency.\n
  • Monitor and tune systems to achieve optimum performance levels, adhering to established policies, procedures, and service level agreements.\n
  • Identify and address performance issues and optimize the production environment for mission-critical systems.\n
  • Perform acceptance testing of modules, subsystems, and total systems.\n
  • Responsible for software installation, configuration, and ensuring adherence to configuration guidelines.\n
  • Ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.\n
  • Maintain documentation and records to demonstrate adherence to regulatory requirements.\n

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of Linux Systems Administration experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.\n
  • Current DoW 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) prior to start.\n
  • One of the following Linux certifications prior to start: Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), CompTIA Linux+, or LPIC-1\n
  • Active Secret Security Clearance, or the ability to obtain Interim Secret eligibility prior to start (U.S. Citizenship required).\n
  • Extensive experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.\n
  • Experience with Red Hat Satellite administration.\n
  • Hands-on experience developing automation using Ansible.\n
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.\n
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with technical teams, users, and others.\n, * Experience supporting High Performance Computing (HPC) or large-scale enterprise environments.\n
  • Experience supporting Department of War (DoW) or other federal government customers.\n
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies and enterprise storage solutions.\n
  • Experience with scripting (Bash, Python, or similar) to automate system administration tasks.\n
