Job description

We are looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) Security Engineer to join a major client programme on a long-term contract through to March 2027. This is a primarily remote opportunity, although candidates must be willing and able to travel to client offices when required.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, security, and resilience of critical platforms and services, working closely with engineering, operations, and security teams., * Design, implement, and maintain secure, resilient, and highly available platforms.

  • Embed security best practices within SRE and DevOps processes.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and security posture across environments.
  • Automate operational and security controls using Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement security controls and compliance requirements.
  • Drive improvements in observability, monitoring, logging, and alerting.
  • Conduct vulnerability remediation and support security reviews and audits.

Requirements

  • Active SC Clearance (mandatory).
  • Proven experience in an SRE, DevSecOps, Platform Security, or Security Engineering role.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
  • Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration technologies, including Kubernetes.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of security principles, vulnerability management, and security monitoring.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK, or similar.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and stakeholder engagement skills.

Desirable

  • Experience working within government, defence, or highly regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust principles and cloud security frameworks.
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Security, Azure Security Engineer, CISSP, CISM, or Kubernetes certifications.
