Job description
Works under the supervision of the Applications Manager. The IS Applications Support Specialistās primary job function is to assist the departments in the selection and installation of department-specific software. Support Specialist continues to help the departmentās designated āApplications System Managerā with issues related to the computer system post conversion/installation. Performs other duties as assigned., The following is a summary of the major job duties of this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

Support IS Operations Group by training operations staff on procedures and software, etc.

Assists Department Director in the Evaluation and Selection of Application Software.

Works with computer software vendors and clients to solve installation and on-going support issues.

Develops and support system interface programs, other application software and procedures.

Installs applications software on client PCās.

Maintains codes files and master files for various applications as directed.

Follows all documented policies/procedures for updating the departments asset system.
Requirements

High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam Required

Associates Degree in IT related studies or four years of healthcare IT specific application support experience required

Bachelorās Degree with IT - specific curriculum or Associates Degree with Software Development Certification preferred, * Three years of either, healthcare-specific application support experience, healthcare-specific project management experience or HL7 interface development experience preferred.
