Job description
As a Physical Security Project Manager, you will oversee the planning, installation, and delivery of physical security projects supporting enterprise facilities and critical infrastructure. Working closely with field personnel, contractors, security integrators, and business stakeholders, you’ll manage projects involving access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, perimeter security, and other low-voltage systems from initiation through commissioning.
This role is ideal for an experienced Project Manager with a background in physical security systems, low-voltage construction, or field operations who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys leading projects from planning through completion.
Your Day-to-Day Activities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of physical security system projects
- Manage project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and project documentation
- Coordinate installation of access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, intercom, and related low-voltage systems
- Perform site walks to evaluate installation requirements, construction progress, and project risks
- Manage subcontractors, vendors, and field installation teams throughout project execution
- Oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and required permits
- Track project financials, labor hours, material costs, and change orders
- Conduct project meetings and provide status updates to internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure projects comply with safety requirements, quality standards, and PMO governance
- Support commissioning, testing, system acceptance, and project closeout documentation
- Maintain project risk logs, issue tracking, and communication plans
- Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and internal business partners
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience managing physical security, low-voltage, or field construction projects
- Experience managing installation projects involving access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, or related electronic security systems
- Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, and field installation teams
- Ability to read construction drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications
- Experience managing project schedules, budgets, risks, and change orders
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites throughout the assigned territory
You’ll Stand Out If You Have
- Experience with AMAG, Genetec, Software House, Avigilon, LenelS2, or similar access control platforms
- PMP, PSP, CPP, or other project management or physical security certifications
- Experience working for a physical security integrator or electrical contractor
- Background in low-voltage electrical systems or commercial construction
- Knowledge of OSHA safety practices and job site compliance
- Experience managing projects within utility, energy, or other critical infrastructure environments
- Experience working within PMO governance and project management methodologies
