Job description
The Desktop & Customer Support Technician is the first point of contact for technology support at Boise Co-op. You’ll provide responsive technical support by troubleshooting hardware and software issues, resolving service requests, and ensuring employees have the technology they need to succeed.
This role combines remote support with hands-on assistance across our locations. If you enjoy helping people, solving technical problems, and learning new technologies, you’ll fit right in.
More than a help desk role, this position offers opportunities to build experience with networking, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and enterprise systems while growing your technical skills and responsibilities.
What You’ll Do
- Provide first-line technical support to Boise Co-op employees, both remotely and on-site.
- Troubleshoot, install, and support desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and business applications.
- Set up and maintain user accounts and devices for new and existing employees.
- Document support requests and identify opportunities to improve processes.
- Train employees on technology and best practices when needed.
- Assist with hardware deployments, office technology projects, and infrastructure initiatives.
- Maintain accurate inventory of IT equipment and technology assets.
- Collaborate with the IT team on infrastructure, security, and technology projects.
Requirements
- Strong customer service and communication skills with a passion for helping others.
- Experience supporting Windows, Microsoft 365, and business applications.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, endpoint management, and basic networking.
- Experience with remote support tools such as NinjaOne, TeamViewer, ConnectWise Control, or similar products is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Curiosity, initiative, and a desire to continually learn and grow.
Education & Experience
- Two or more years of desktop support, help desk, or technical customer support experience preferred.
- Associate degree in Information Technology or a related field preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience.
