Job description
The Expert IT Specialist will support mission-critical Department of Labor operations by developing, optimizing, and maintaining Data Warehouse processes while assisting in the migration from legacy systems to the New York State Unemployment Insurance System., * Design, develop, maintain, and optimize enterprise Data Warehouse solutions.
- Develop, test, debug, and implement ETL processes using IBM DataStage.
- Create and maintain Oracle SQL and PL/SQL code supporting Data Warehouse applications.
- Optimize ETL jobs and Oracle SQL queries for maximum efficiency and performance.
- Support Fraud Detection and Improper Payment data mining initiatives through advanced ETL development.
- Develop and maintain dimensional data models supporting enterprise reporting and analytics.
- Build and maintain operational metrics, reporting queries, and analytical datasets.
- Investigate and resolve ETL failures, data integrity issues, and production support incidents.
- Develop and execute unit, integration, and quality assurance test plans.
- Write technical documentation including specifications, process flows, and data models.
- Implement program enhancements throughout development, testing, staging, and production environments.
- Provide application support and resolve production issues as needed.
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership to project teams.
- Ensure all application documentation complies with organizational standards.
- Support secure handling of sensitive employment-related data in accordance with applicable security requirements., * Enterprise Data Warehouse architecture

Requirements
This role requires an experienced ETL and Data Warehouse professional with deep expertise in Oracle databases, IBM DataStage, SQL optimization, UNIX scripting, and dimensional data modeling. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing enterprise ETL solutions, improving system performance, troubleshooting complex production issues, and mentoring development teams., * 84+ months (7+ years) of progressive IT experience demonstrating technical leadership and expertise in enterprise application development.
- Proven ability to provide technical leadership, mentor development teams, and support enterprise-scale implementations., Candidates with experience in the following areas are strongly encouraged to apply:

- 72+ months developing ETL solutions using IBM DataStage
- Extensive ETL lifecycle experience from development through production deployment
- ETL automation and performance optimization
Oracle Database Development
- 84+ months developing Data Warehouse solutions using:
- Oracle SQL
- PL/SQL
- Advanced Oracle SQL performance tuning
- Query optimization and execution analysis, Experience working with sensitive employee or government data, including:
- PPI (Personally Protected Information)
- SSA data security requirements
