Job description

A fast-growing, venture-backed legal tech startup (Series A) based in New York City is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join their small, high-output engineering team on-site. This company sits at the intersection of AI and legal services, building agentic tools that help expert lawyers review and execute commercial contracts at unprecedented speed.

You’ll be a full-stack engineer with a strong frontend emphasis, owning product development end-to-end and working directly with founders to shape the core platform. Visa sponsorship is available for this role., * Design, build, and deploy scalable systems and cutting-edge agentic AI tools to accelerate contract review workflows for the in-house legal team.

Take full ownership of new product features from concept to production, with a focus on crafting intuitive, lawyer-facing interfaces.
Work closely with the founding team to define technical priorities and establish a robust, maintainable codebase.
Develop and integrate large language model (LLM) powered tools to drive the core platform.
Contribute to a high-energy, collaborative, in-person engineering culture centered on moving fast and shipping product.
Mentor junior engineers and participate in recruiting as the team scales.

Requirements

Must-haves:

3+ years of full-stack development experience.
Proficiency in TypeScript and Python.
Hands-on experience with modern frontend frameworks - React, Vue, or Svelte.
Demonstrated experience building frontend AI tools, agents, or AI-driven interfaces.
Background at a high-growth, venture-backed startup.
Willingness and ability to work on-site in New York City.

Nice to have:

Experience with LLM integrations (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar APIs).
Genuine interest in AI and/or legal technology.
Experience with Go or Rust.

$250,000 - $300,000 a year - Full-time, * Salary: $250,000 - $300,000 USD annually
