Job description

JOB GOALS: Coordinate and provide high level technical leadership in the planning, implementation and ongoing support of the district network and systems security operations.

Establish standards and guidelines for security of all computing devices

Develop and conduct training for all employees of cyber security. Be responsible for the security of the network infrastructure, LAN, WAN, and wireless communication systems

Perform regular audits to test the security of the network, LAN, and WAN

To participate in planning for technology disaster recovery, * Demonstrates support for the school system, its purpose, direction, and

  • Develops and maintains all technology security systems and

  • Recommends and implements technology upgrades, patches, new applications and equipment.

  • Provides technical support and guidance to

  • Conducts regular audits to test and assure network

  • Works with administrators and end users to determine current and future networking security needs.

  • Works with vendors to assure the purchase of quality equipment to meet current and future security needs.

  • Recommends, tests, and deploys patches to all switches and network equipment to assure security and efficiency on the network.

  • Conducts audits to assure CIPA compliancy and compliance with all laws and industry standards.

  • Safeguards Information Systems assets by identifying and mitigating potential and actual security risk/ threats.

  • Streamline and standardize District technology procedures to ensure stable and secure operations.

  • Monitors day-to-day activities of staff and students, contracted vendors and service providers.

  • Maintains Incident Response Plan, Business Continuity Plan and Risk Management Program, Disaster Recovery Plan and Data Governance

  • Chairs Data Governance Hold regular meetings to review and update the Data Governance Plan.

  • Report all policy violations, network vulnerabilities to Chief Information Officer or other appropriate Administration.

  • Review software and website request for CIPA, COPA and FERPA

  • Works with other team members to assure complete and efficient network communications and security.

  • Models and maintains high ethical

  • Reports potential problems and/or workplace irregularities to appropriate administrative personnel.

  • Demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities for improvement in areas of

  • Operates school system owned vehicles in accordance with state and local laws, and school board policy.
  • Follows, observes, and reports all violations of the Board approved Data Governance Policy to ensure data security.
  • Reports absences and takes leave in accordance with Board policies and Performs other job-related duties and tasks as directed by the Technology

Requirements

  • Associates degree in computer sciences or related

  • At least two (2) years’ experience in technology security management or related field preferred.

  • Good public relations

  • Possess knowledge of commonly used technology security concepts and

  • Possess knowledge and experience in wireless communication and security

  • Possess knowledge of Microsoft systems, Microsoft Server, and Apple

  • Possess knowledge in Layer 3 and Layer 2 design and

  • Possess knowledge in wireless networking and

  • Possess knowledge in configuring VLAN and Fire

  • Possess knowledge and experience in network switch routing and other equipment and applications.

  • Ability to be customer support and service

  • Possess knowledge of active directory and group

  • Ability to meet the suitability criteria for employment and/or certification licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-45.7

  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team member with large and/or diverse

  • Physical strength, mobility, dexterity, stamina, and acuity to perform job
