Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Full Stack Java Developer with AWS Cloud Services experience. In this role, you will be able to design, develop, and maintain Java-based micro-services applications on the AWS cloud environment. The successful candidate will provide daily guidance and support to staff, and manage technical operations encompassing build, software installation, upgrades, patching, security, scalability, troubleshooting, and system responsiveness. You will play a key role in building modern, responsive web applications that prioritize user experience and accessibility. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Agile methodologies is a plus., * Design, Develop and Deploy java based software and web applications.

  • Developing front end web application ensuring Section S-508 compliance and responsiveness of applications
  • Ensure that user interactions on web pages are intuitive and engaging.
  • Develop and maintain IaC (Infrastructure as Code) using Terraform
  • Ensure the code in pushed to version controller regularly.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and actively contribute to Agile practices, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Control, plan and direct all aspects of the change process.
  • Provides daily support and direction to staff as to change status requirements, deadlines, and problems.
  • Resource performs all aspects of technical operations; builds, software installation and upgrades, patching, security, system responsiveness, scaling, troubleshooting, reliability and monitoring
  • Responsible for effectively tracking, logging, categorizing, and maintaining changes made against the accepted baseline(s) standards.
  • Problem resolution of complex problems using deep technical knowledge and experience
  • Provides support to tier 2 application issues as needed
  • Participate and review project plans and schedules
  • Reports, Tracks open issues and actions items in Jira
  • Provides status & statistical reporting for the weekly status and monthly deep dives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in Java based micro-services and web applications.
  • Proficiency on Sprint Boot micro-services architecture, spring frameworks, spring security
  • Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Proficiency in github, git functions and git flow.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular and/or React.
  • Experience with automation tools such as Jenkins and Ansible or other CICD tools
  • Good knowledge on AWS Cloud environment, the AWS Console, AWS EC2/Fargate, AWS ECS, RDS, OpenSearch, AWS S3 and storage tiers, RSH, SSH, SSL, Security group and Firewall configurations
  • Experience in log analysis and monitoring tools like splunk
  • Must have experience with Terraform, Docker
  • Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies like SAFe and Scrum
  • Experience with Atlassian tools
  • Hands on experience with software defined compute, storage, and network
  • Ability to automate builds, repetitive tasks, and log analysis
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance, * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Java based micro-services and web applications.

U.S. Residency Requirement:

  • Must have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years.
  • Must be able to go through the US Federal Public Trust Security Clearance, * Bachelor’s (Preferred), * REST: 3 years (Preferred)
  • AWS: 3 years (Required)
  • AWS - IaaS: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Java: 5 years (Preferred)
  • Micro services: 3 years (Preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

  • Rockville, MD 20850: Relocate before starting work (Required)

Benefits & conditions

$50 - $70 an hour - Full-time, Contract, Job Types: Full-time, Contract
