Job description
As a Consulting Epic Analyst, you will be playing a crucial role in the design, building, testing, and implementation of clinical application systems. You will be providing support to clinical users, understanding their needs, and adapting the software to meet these requirements. Your role involves working with clinicians to create or adapt written protocols and preparing detailed specifications encompassing clinical processes, information flow, risk, and impact analysis. You will be responsible for managing all incoming change requests for provider templates in EPIC/Apex and determining the impact on decision trees while maintaining organization standards.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, test, and implement clinical application systems.
- Provide support to clinical users through the knowledge of clinical processes, documentation needs, workflows, and clinical practice standards.
- Work with clinicians to create or adapt written protocols.
- Prepare detailed specifications encompassing clinical processes, information flow, risk, and impact analysis.
- Manage all incoming change requests for provider templates in EPIC/Apex.
- Determine the impact on decision trees and maintain organization standards.
- Identify and proactively mitigate issues that create barriers to ambulatory access and patient flow.
- Provide a high level of customer service to ambulatory clinic physicians and administrators.
- Adhere to scheduling template design best practices, execute service level agreements, align with UCSF Clinical Systems change control policies, and support Patient Access capacity objectives.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Hands-on experience in Epic Cadence scheduling template builds and management.
- Basic knowledge of decision trees.
- Experience onboarding clinicians to improve patient access.
- Epic Cadence certificate preferred but not required.
- Excellent customer service, troubleshooting, and maintenance skills.
- Strong knowledge of clinical processes, documentation needs, workflows, and clinical practice standards.
- Ability to work independently and exercise judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action.
- Proven track record of managing small to medium-sized projects of moderate scope.
- Ability to analyze provider utilization reports and serve as the subject matter expert for template design and build.
- Strong commitment to improving patient access and flow in ambulatory settings.
