Job description

We’re looking for a SQL Developer to join a well-established recruitment organisation where you’ll play a key role in developing, enhancing and supporting critical business applications used across the company. This isn’t a data engineering or BI role. Instead, you’ll work across both the SQL Server back end and the user-facing application layer, maintaining and improving internally developed business systems that support day-to-day operations. The Role Working as part of a small IT Team, you’ll be involved in:

  • Developing and enhancing SQL Server databases, stored procedures and T-SQL code
  • Maintaining and improving Microsoft Access applications
  • Developing user interfaces, forms and reports using Access and VBA
  • Enhancing C# applications that integrate with SQL Server
  • Working directly with users to understand requirements and deliver practical solutions
  • Troubleshooting issues and providing ongoing application support
  • Improving existing systems while contributing to future development projects

This is a hands-on development role where you’ll spend most of your time writing code and delivering enhancements to business-critical systems., * SQL Developer

You’ll enjoy solving problems, working closely with users and taking ownership of business applications from database through to front-end functionality. This role would particularly suit someone who enjoys developing and enhancing business systems rather than focusing solely on BI, reporting or data engineering.

Requirements

We’re looking for someone with experience of most of the following:

  • SQL Server
  • T-SQL
  • Stored Procedures
  • Microsoft Access
  • VBA
  • C#
  • Desktop or business application development
  • User interface, forms or front-end development
  • Working with internal business systems
  • Application support and maintenance

Experience with reporting technologies such as SSRS would be beneficial.
