Job Title: Graduate Technical Support EngineerLocation: HalifaxSalary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annumHours: Full Time, Permanent (Monday to Friday) Have you recently graduated in IT, Computer Science, Technology or a related discipline and are looking for a role where you can kick start your career? Our client is a growing technology solutions provider supporting businesses with workplace technology, collaboration tools and technical services. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Graduate Technical Support Engineer to join their expanding technical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate who is passionate about technology and enjoys problem solving. You’ll receive hands on training, mentoring from experienced engineers and exposure to a wide range of technical environments, allowing you to build a long term career within a specialist and growing sector. From day one, you’ll work alongside experienced colleagues, supporting customers with technical queries, investigating issues and helping to deliver an outstanding customer experience while developing your technical knowledge and commercial skills.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first line technical support to customers via telephone, email and remote support tools.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot technical issues, escalating more complex cases where required.
  • Manage support tickets from initial logging through to resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation within the support system.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance activities and system health checks.
  • Support senior engineers with technical projects and customer solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, customers and third party suppliers.
  • Continuously develop your technical knowledge through structured training and on the job learning.

Requirements

About You: We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, eager to learn and has a genuine passion for technology. Ideally you’ll have:

  • A degree in IT, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to speak with customers professionally.
  • A logical approach to troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise your workload.
  • A willingness to learn new technologies and develop your technical expertise.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

It Would Be Great If You Also Have:

  • Previous work experience gained through a placement year, internship, part time role or customer facing position.
  • Exposure to IT support, helpdesk, hardware, networking or workplace technology.
  • Experience using ticketing or service management systems.
