The Single-Family Business Technology Office (BTO) within Freddie Mac is searching for driven individuals to join our organization to help us deliver solutions to the business. BTO is building a world class technology platform to meet customer needs, manage technology risk leveraging emerging technologies, and modernize cloud capabilities to provide reduced delivery cycle time and increased resiliency.

Freddie Mac is a dynamic environment with constant change that enables Software Developers to grow through a wide variety of experiences and responsibilities. Our Single-Family College Analyst Cohort program is crafted to ease the transition of college into the workforce by providing skills training and mentorship programs, as well as in-class learning opportunities with senior leadership.

This role increasingly supports business intelligence, data interpretation, visualization, and reporting capabilities that help internal and external stakeholders make data-driven decisions. Candidates should be interested in understanding both technology solutions and the business value those solutions deliver.

Our Impact:

  • Understand business needs and processes; identify solutions and work with project teams and sponsors in identifying the best solution.
  • Support business intelligence capabilities by transforming data into dashboards, reports, and actionable insights for business users, sellers, and servicers.
  • Leverage visualization and commercial reporting tools, including platforms such as Tableau and similar technologies, to communicate analytical results.

Your Impact:

  • Collaborate with team members on new development and bug resolution.
  • Develop and analyze code for assigned sprint work.
  • Participate in technical training, boot camps, hackathons, and new-hire education.
  • Translate data into meaningful visualizations, dashboards, and reports that support business decision-making.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the business purpose behind technical solutions and communicate that value to stakeholders.
  • Apply AI-enabled tools responsibly while validating outputs for accuracy and relevance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer Engineering or related software development experience and coursework.
  • Graduating in December 2026 or May 2027 with availability to begin full time employment in January 2027 or June 2027.
  • College-level experience with coding practices and languages such as Java, C/C++, Python, Angular/Springboot, or others.
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies preferred.
  • Experience with popular business tools (Windows, Office Professional, Visio, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Exposure to business intelligence, reporting, analytics, Tableau, or other data visualization platforms is preferred but not required.

Keys to Success in this Role:

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to interact and work independently and within a team environment.
  • Desire continuous learning of new and emerging technologies.
  • Interest in understanding Freddie Mac business processes and the business benefits of technical solutions.
  • AI literacy, including understanding prompting techniques and validating AI-generated responses before using them.
