Job description

We are looking for experienced Systems Engineers to help develop next-generation mission-critical technologies and complex systems that support advanced communications, aerospace, defense, and national security applications.

As a Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in driving digital engineering transformation through the use of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Agile methodologies, DevSecOps practices, and systems architecture development. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to define, design, integrate, and validate complex systems throughout the entire product lifecycle.

This role offers the opportunity to solve challenging technical problems, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to innovative products from concept development through deployment and sustainment.

What You’ll Do

Analyze customer, product, and system requirements while balancing technical, schedule, and cost considerations.

Develop and maintain system requirements, specifications, and verification strategies using requirements management tools such as DOORS.

Create and evolve system architectures using MBSE tools, including Cameo Enterprise Architecture.

Conduct functional analyses, trade studies, interface definition activities, and system performance assessments.

Translate stakeholder needs into detailed system requirements and engineering solutions.

Collaborate with systems, software, hardware, logistics, test, and specialty engineering teams to ensure successful system integration.

Develop engineering artifacts that support system design, development, verification, and validation activities.

Ensure system architectures and designs align with program objectives and technical requirements.

Establish and improve modeling standards, processes, and best practices for model-based development.

Support design reviews, technical review boards, and engineering governance activities.

Present technical concepts, recommendations, and findings to engineering teams, program leadership, and stakeholders.

Contribute to proposal efforts, technical planning, trade studies, and program execution activities.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or another related STEM field and 5+ years of relevant experience; OR

Master’s degree and 3+ years of relevant experience; OR

PhD and 1+ year of relevant experience.

Experience applying systems engineering principles and processes.

Experience with requirements development, management, analysis, verification, and validation.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Experience creating technical documentation and presentations.

Systems Engineer IV and V

Bachelor’s degree in a related STEM field and 8+ years of relevant experience; OR

Master’s degree and 6+ years of relevant experience; OR

PhD and 4+ years of relevant experience.

Demonstrated expertise in systems engineering across multiple development phases.

Experience leading technical efforts and collaborating across engineering disciplines.

Strong communication and technical leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines.

Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).

Experience using Cameo Systems Modeler, Cameo Enterprise Architecture, or similar MBSE tools.

Experience with SysML, UML, or UPDM modeling languages.

Experience with IBM DOORS and DXL scripting.

Experience working in Agile development environments utilizing tools such as Jira and Confluence.

Experience writing system requirements, verification plans, and test documentation.

Experience supporting large-scale, complex system development programs.

Experience across the full product lifecycle, including concept development, design, integration, verification, deployment, sustainment, and retirement.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Strong presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.

Professional systems engineering certification (e.g., INCOSE CSEP) is a plus.
