Job description

Electrophysiology (EP) Specialist in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role involves participation in procedure room preparation and post-procedure turnarounds, making hemodynamic recordings, calculations, and interpretations, and providing emotional support to patients and their families. The specialist will assist in inventory control, foster teamwork with physicians and staff, and ensure patient education and comfort. The position requires assessment and documentation of patient conditions, including communication with physicians about deviations and understanding X-ray safety principles. The role also includes operating imaging equipment, providing procedural assistance, and performing point-of-care testing, with opportunities for staff mentorship and training.

Requirements

  • Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in health science obtained from an accredited institution, or graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, Respiratory Therapy, or Nursing program; or diploma/associate degree in health science with at least one year of healthcare experience (e.g., cath lab, electrophysiology, EMT, paramedic, CNA, surgical tech). Certification as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES); Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS or PALS certification required within six months of hire; radiation badge required.

  • Additional Information: Experience in invasive cardiovascular technology or electrophysiology for at least two years, with proficiency in complex diagnostic and interventional procedures, is highly preferred. Maintenance of at least 20 hours of continued medical education annually is required. Candidates should demonstrate competence in coronary interventions and basic electrophysiology procedures, with a thorough understanding of cardiopulmonary pathophysiology, pharmacology, and proper equipment operation.
