Job description

MissionEdge Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer to help design, build, and deploy modern cloud-native applications supporting mission-critical government programs. In this role, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop scalable software solutions, automate cloud infrastructure, and deliver secure, reliable applications in AWS. Telework (up to 16 hours per week) may be available for this position based on mission needs/available tasking at the discretion of leadership, after the individual has become fully acclimated to the duties and responsibilities of the position and has completed the necessary telework training.

Requirements

  • Due to the nature of this position and the information that employees will be required to access; U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Active TS/SCI w/ polygraph
  • Fourteen (14) years of Software Engineering (SWE) experience supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university. An additional four (4) years of relevant Software Engineering experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
  • Professional experience developing applications using Python.
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization technologies, including Kubernetes (K8s) or Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS).
  • Experience deploying and managing cloud-native applications in Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Experience working within an Agile software development lifecycle, participating in iterative development, sprint planning, and team collaboration.
  • Ability to analyze and derive software requirements while collaborating effectively across multiple engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Desired/Preferred Skills:

  • Experience designing and maintaining GitLab CI/CD pipelines to automate software build, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Knowledge of AWS cloud architecture, including designing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions.
  • Experience implementing solutions that improve cloud stability, resilience, high availability, and failover to support mission-critical applications., May be required to lift and carry items weighting up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday., Successful Completion of a Background Screening/Check/Investigation will be required as a condition of hire.

The compensation for this role will be competitive and is aligned with industry standards, taking into consideration factors such as experience, education, and geographic location. The base salary range for this position is $177,900 to $223,550 (USD), exclusive of any discretionary bonuses and benefits., Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are normally set from Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required. Additional details on the precise hours will be informed to the candidate from the Program Manager/Hiring Manager.
