Staff Software Engineer, Backend (Marketplace/App Experience)

• Set and execute the technical strategy for the team on a year-long timeline
• Collaborate across teams to ensure technical sustainability and manage risks
• Act as a force-multiplier by defining technical solutions and operational processes
• Ensure team operations and availability through proper monitoring and support systems
• Foster a culture of quality through code review and design standards adoption
• Guide talent development on the team through feedback and mentorship
• Lead initiatives in improving customer experience and platform capabilities

• 8+ years experience in backend systems design and development using Python or Kotlin
• Extensive track record with highly available distributed systems using AWS, MySQL, Spark, and Kubernetes
• 2+ years of experience with search or recommendation engines
• Proficient in developing consumer experiences utilizing UI frameworks such as React
• Demonstrated ability to deliver large system features and write high-quality, maintainable code
• Comfortable transitioning from low-level coding to high-level system architecture
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration
