Job description

The IT Field Engineer is the face of PCH Technologies in the field, deploying to client sites for hands on PC and laptop installations, replacements, and onsite troubleshooting, plus network equipment deployments. When not on the road, you integrate directly into our Service Desk queue, resolving escalated Tier 1 and Tier 2 remote tickets to keep SLAs tight and clients happy. This role is focused on PC deployment, hardware refreshes, endpoint setup, onsite troubleshooting, and small business networking.

This is a high autonomy role for someone who thrives on variety: one day you are prepping and deploying a fleet of laptops and cutting over a firewall, the next you are resolving remote tickets and documenting a network closet. If you want a desk only job, this is not it. If you want every day to be different, keep reading.

  • Conduct onsite IT assessments, network closet cleanup and documentation, and update central asset management records post deployment
  • Coordinate directly with third party vendors (ISPs, low voltage cablers, hardware OEMs) during installations
  • Maintain accurate, up to date site documentation, topology notes, and network closet diagrams following all onsite visits

Service Desk Support (When Not in the Field)
