Job description

An innovative technology company is seeking a Senior Computer Vision Engineer to play a key role in the development of advanced imaging, computer vision, and machine learning solutions. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, driving innovation, and contributing across the full product development lifecycle.

Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you’ll help design and deliver robust algorithms and software solutions that transform complex visual and sensor data into meaningful business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimise image processing and computer vision algorithms
  • Build solutions that transform sensor and visual data into reliable, actionable insights
  • Apply computer vision, machine learning, and data analysis techniques to solve real-world challenges
  • Collaborate with software, hardware, and product teams to develop scalable solutions
  • Contribute to technical architecture decisions and long-term product development strategies
  • Define technical approaches, identify risks, and support successful project delivery
  • Translate customer and business requirements into practical technical solutions
  • Evaluate algorithm performance and continuously improve system accuracy and robustness
  • Contribute to engineering standards, best practices, and code quality initiatives
  • Mentor and support other engineers through technical guidance and knowledge sharing
  • Act as a subject matter expert for computer vision and imaging-related topics

Requirements

  • Strong commercial experience with Python and modern software development practices
  • Extensive experience in Computer Vision and Image Processing
  • Experience building machine learning or AI-driven solutions using frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch
  • Strong understanding of data processing, algorithm design, and system optimisation
  • Experience taking solutions from concept and prototyping through to production deployment
  • Ability to evaluate model performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a pragmatic, solution-focused mindset
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Comfortable working independently while also contributing within cross-functional teams

Education & Background

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline
  • PhD considered an advantage
  • Significant commercial experience developing computer vision or machine learning solutions
