Software Engineer, Map Orchestration

Experteer Overview In this role you will design and maintain scalable backend systems to track state and orchestrate map-building pipelines for HD maps used by the Aurora Driver. You will build and scale services powering data-heavy workflows, collaborating with map algorithms, localization, and operations teams. You’ll work with Python and C++ to ensure robust, high-volume pipelines and resolve complex orchestration issues. This is a chance to shape how large-scale mapping supports safer, broader autonomous mobility. Compensation / Benefits * Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend systems to track state and orchestrate map-building steps * Scale and maintain services and infrastructure for map-building pipelines * Collaborate with map generation, localization, and operations teams to define interfaces for hand-offs, notifications, and escalation * Develop software in Python and C++ using modern best practices * Troubleshoot and solve complex issues in large-scale data pipelines and orchestration systems Tasks * BS/MS or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics or related field * 5+ years of industry experience building software in a production environment * Proficiency in backend systems (gRPC, SQL databases, MapReduce) using Python or C++ * Experience with software design in complex systems with many dependencies * Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment Key requirements * base salary 146,000 - 211,500 USD * annual bonus * equity compensation * benefits * hybrid work environment (in-office 3 days/week)
