Job description

A law firm seeks a Patent Agent or Technology Specialist with a background in computer science, electrical and computer engineering, or related fields in Washington, D.C. The role involves representing a variety of technology companies, from startups to Fortune 500, in patent prosecution matters. Candidates may be located in any of the firm’s US offices., * Represent technology companies in patent prosecution matters.

  • Work closely with associates and partners on patent strategy and drafting.
  • Engage in patent diligence and prosecution tasks.
  • Provide immediate client contact and support.

Requirements

  • At least three years of patent prosecution experience.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must pass the USPTO registration exam within one year if not already registered.

Education

  • M.S. or M.Eng. in a relevant field, or equivalent industry experience preferred.

Certifications

  • USPTO registration (or willingness to obtain within one year)., * Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in patent strategy and drafting.
