Job description

Experteer Overview As a Software Engineer in Broadcom’s Ethernet NIC team, you will design and implement RDMA protocol features for high-performance NICs used in AI/ML and HPC workloads. You will collaborate across architecture, silicon, software, firmware, and QA to deliver scalable, high-throughput, low-latency solutions. The role focuses on delivering robust software, drivers, and firmware that meet demanding data-center requirements. This opportunity lets you shape how next-gen NICs support cutting-edge workloads while working with cross-functional teams. Compensation / Benefits * Design and develop RDMA protocol features for Ethernet NICs, with emphasis on QoS and congestion control * Collaborate with architecture, silicon, and software/firmware teams to architect and implement scalable, high-performance applications * Contribute to software design, development, validation, and documentation to ensure high quality, performance, and functionality * Define and review high-quality test cases with QA and support release development cycles * Engage with customer support to diagnose and resolve field issues in a timely manner Tasks * BS/MS in Computer Science, Electronics & Communications or equivalent with 12+ years of experience * Extensive experience in RDMA protocol, QoS, packet classifications, Linux systems programming, Linux kernel networking, and data center networking * Strong understanding of RDMA protocol; hands-on RDMA experience preferred * Experience writing test scripts to verify NIC behavior is desirable * Deep knowledge of Linux kernel networking; HPC workload performance tuning * Excellent programming skills in C, C++, and Python; proficiency with x86 and ARM64 toolchains * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills in software/hardware environments * Excellent written and verbal communication and cross-team collaboration abilities Key requirements * medical, dental and vision plans * 401(K) with company matching * Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP) * Employee Assistance Program (EAP) * paid holidays, paid sick leave and vacation * paid family leave and leaves of absence
