Senior Product Planning Engineer - Simulation, Security, and Deployment

Experteer Overview In this role you drive verification methodology and simulation technology for Vivado, shaping UVM-based flows and RTL simulation. You’ll lead the evolution of the simulation ecosystem and help customers design and verify complex FPGA and adaptive SoC designs. You’ll bridge engineering, product planning, and technical marketing to define direction and engage strategic customers and partners. This position offers ownership of encryption, deployment, and licensing strategies within an AI-first development environment. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally to translate real-world verification challenges into product innovations that boost productivity and interoperability. Compensation / Benefits * Shape the strategic roadmap for simulation, RTL encryption/security, and deployment across annual and quarterly cycles * Drive competitive differentiation by mapping market landscape and customer value * Define third-party partnership strategy (Xcelium, Questa, Riviera) to ensure interoperability and alignment * Represent AMD in industry standards bodies for IP protection and encryption * Own end-to-end licensing and deployment strategies including architecture decisions and compliance alignment * Bridge R&D and customer success by turning complex capabilities into guidance, enablement content, and positioning * Lead technical thought leadership at events and customer engagements to influence product direction * Support strategic sales opportunities with deep domain expertise and credibility * Ensure guidance aligns with real-world customer complexity and publish authoritative documentation * Operate as a senior technical leader influencing executive decisions and cross-functional initiatives * Mentor the team and elevate customer engagement practices Tasks * Deep expertise in RTL simulation, UVM, formal methods, and multi-language simulation * Familiarity with IP protection/encryption technology and related compliance * Experience owning or influencing a product roadmap in EDA or semiconductor tools * Hands-on experience applying AI agents and copilots to EDA tools or workflows * Strong track record of balancing technical depth with business impact and executive influence * Comfort with licensing models and enterprise deployment; platform engineering is a plus * Ability to communicate complex concepts to engineers, executives, and customers Key requirements *
