Enterprise Data Architect - Customer Data Platform

Experteer Overview Lead the vision and governance of a Azure Databricks Lakehouse that serves as the CIS data system of record. Architect scalable, secure data platforms enabling trusted data delivery for reporting, analytics, and regulatory needs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality, lineage, and compliance while supporting batch and near-real-time workloads. Drive platform standards, roadmaps, and cost optimization to deliver measurable business value. Compensation / Benefits * Own end-to-end architecture and strategic direction of the Azure Databricks Lakehouse, including ingestion, storage, processing, governance, and consumption frameworks * Define and maintain enterprise architecture standards for the Lakehouse (medallion design, Delta Lake, data modeling, metadata management, scalability) * Architect near-real-time and batch CIS data replication into the Lakehouse with reliability and compliance * Design and govern integration patterns for downstream applications, enabling secure data consumption * Serve as final architectural approval authority for platform standards and technology choices * Partner with data science and analytics teams to enable ML, generative AI, and advanced analytics with governance * Provide governance for vendors/partners and alignment with enterprise standards * Establish standards for data quality, lineage, cataloging, observability, and governance (Unity Catalog, metadata platforms) * Lead architecture decisions for CDC, streaming, and data integration technologies * Define logical/physical data models for operational reporting, BI, analytics, and regulatory needs * Partner with cybersecurity and compliance to implement data protection and encryption controls * Design architecture for high availability, DR, and business continuity * Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Data Engineering teams * Develop architecture artifacts (reference architectures, ADRs, roadmaps) * Collaborate to translate business requirements into scalable solutions * Lead platform capacity planning and FinOps for Databricks/Azure * Evaluate emerging technologies to improve the Lakehouse * Support major incidents and platform improvement initiatives * Act as enterprise authority for CIS-related data architecture Tasks * 8+ years in data architecture/engineering or related fields * 3+ years in senior architecture or technical leadership roles * Experience designing and governing enterprise-scale cloud data platforms, Azure-based Lakehouse preferred * Deep expertise with Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, ADLS Gen2, Unity Catalog * Strong experience with large-scale data ingestion, replication, ETL/ELT, streaming (batch and near-real-time) * Proven experience with Spark, Databricks Workflows, Delta Live Tables, Structured Streaming, Event Hubs or Kafka * Knowledge of data architecture principles (dimensional modeling, Data Vault, canonical models, Lakehouse patterns) * Experience in data quality, metadata, lineage, MDM, and governance * Understanding of CDC technologies and replication tools (Qlik Replicate, HVR, Fivetran, Debezium, GoldenGate) * Security architecture: RBAC, encryption, masking, privacy controls, compliance * Platform resiliency: HA, DR, observability, monitoring, operational support * Ability to establish architecture standards, perform reviews, and drive best practices * Experience creating ADRs, reference architectures, data flow diagrams, and strategic roadmaps * Ability to work with stakeholders across enterprise, applications, cybersecurity, and vendors * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills * Excellent communication and influencing skills with technical and non-technical audiences Key requirements * competitive base salary * annual incentive awards * health, welfare, and retirement benefits * comprehensive total rewards * potential for incentive programs
