Job description
· Administer Pega production and non-production environments, including environment readiness, access, roles, configuration settings, and operational baselines.
· Monitor application and platform health, availability, performance, background processing, services, queues, database behavior, and interface status using Pega and enterprise tools.
· Use Pega Diagnostic Center and related observability data to identify anomalies, bottlenecks, capacity concerns, and emerging reliability risks.
· Coordinate user provisioning, role-based permissions, authentication, PIV/ICAM dependencies, access reviews, onboarding, offboarding, and license administration.
· Support release windows, deployment validation, rollback readiness, patching, upgrades, hotfixes, and post-deployment stabilization.
· Maintain audit logs, access reports, system-health reports, capacity reports, configuration records, runbooks, and administrative knowledge articles.
· Coordinate with security, configuration management, service desk, development, data/integration, and cloud-provider teams on incidents, changes, and maintenance.
· Support backup, recovery, continuity, failover testing, and operational-restoration activities in collaboration with the cloud provider and VA stakeholders.
· Investigate complex platform, access, performance, or environment issues and contribute to root-cause analysis and corrective action.
· Support phased onboarding of additional organizations and users while maintaining standardized configuration, access control, and enterprise integrity.
Requirements
· 5+ years of application, platform, cloud, or systems administration experience, including hands-on support of Pega or a closely related enterprise application platform.
· Experience administering production and non-production environments, accounts, permissions, configurations, deployments, monitoring, and operational baselines.
· Working knowledge of Pega administration, Pega Diagnostic Center, background processing, services, queues, logs, and performance diagnostics.
· Experience with identity and access management, role-based access, audit logging, onboarding/offboarding, and least-privilege administration.
· Experience supporting release deployment, patching, upgrades, rollback, incident response, backup/recovery, and operational documentation.
· Familiarity with ITSM processes and tools such as ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, Remedy, or comparable platforms.
· Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
· Ability to coordinate effectively with cloud providers, architects, developers, security personnel, and Government stakeholders.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED:
· Pega System Administration, Pega Cloud, or related Pega certification and experience.
· Experience in a FedRAMP-authorized, federal, financial, health, or other regulated cloud environment; VA experience is beneficial but not required.
· Familiarity with PIV/ICAM, Zero Trust, NIST controls, continuous monitoring, capacity planning, COOP, or configuration-management databases.
· Working knowledge of observability, OpenTelemetry, infrastructure monitoring, ServiceNow integration, or automated deployment tooling.
· ITIL, cloud, security, or systems-administration certification is preferred, but not required.
EDUCATION:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, and experience.
CLEARANCE:
· Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
