Senior Data Scientist

Experteer Overview In this Data Scientist role within the CSS team, you design experiments, build predictive and analytical models, and extract actionable insights from complex data. You will partner with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to define metrics and improve data collection, applying rigorous analytics and causal inference. Your work will inform decision-making and help scale AI-enabled solutions across Microsoft’s customer success initiatives. Compensation / Benefits * Design and analyze experiments (A/B tests and observational studies) to measure business impact * Apply causal inference methods to evaluate outcomes and identify improvement opportunities * Develop, validate, and deploy machine learning models for prediction and analytical use cases * Apply statistical methods to quantify uncertainty and ensure rigor * Partner with engineering and business teams to define metrics and improve data collection * Evaluate AI/LLM-based solutions using structured testing and metrics * Communicate findings via visualizations and data storytelling * Drive adoption of advanced analytics, experimentation, and ML best practices across the organization Tasks * Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), or related field AND 5+ years of technical support, technical consulting, data science, analytics, or information technology experience OR 7+ years of relevant experience * Deep expertise in causal inference (experimental design and observational methods) * Strong statistical foundation (hypothesis testing, regression, Bayesian and frequentist methods) * Solid machine learning skills (feature engineering, model selection, evaluation) * Experience evaluating LLMs/AI agents (offline/online evaluations, quality metrics) * Data storytelling with enhanced visualizations in Python (matplotlib, seaborn, plotly) or other tools * Proficiency in Python or R and SQL * Ability to meet security screening requirements Key requirements *
