The MTSS Specialist is a vital and supportive member of the PCSD team, working collaboratively with educators, support staff, and administration to achieve the shared goal of ensuring all students receive the education they need to succeed both today and tomorrow. This role is performed within a office & school environment, overseen by Director of Academics, where teamwork and dedication to student success are paramount., Primary Function: Expands professional knowledge of the MTSS process to stay informed of best practices. Ability to provide content specific professional development in varied content areas and intervention segments. Ability to coach peers for improvement of practices in instructional delivery, data interpretation, and intervention selection, in collaboration with school administration, school based MTSS teams, and district curriculum team. Knowledge of MTSS process and ability to develop, lead, implement, monitor, and collaborate with other educators in the schoolwide integration of MTSS to support the whole child and promote intellectual, social, and behavioral growth in all students identified for intervention need. Follow federal, state, and district guidelines in accordance with legislation related to the MTSS process. Proficiency with data analysis and tools for data management. Proficiency required in communicating with key stakeholders and working to support both district and school MTSS teams., Expand professional knowledge of the MTSS process to stay informed about best practices
Serve as a member of the district and school based MTSS teams and attends regularly scheduled meetings
Collaborate regularly with district curriculum coordinators to ensure alignment between rigorous, effective Tier 1 instruction and interventions
Support universal screening processes to identify students in need of support for remediation or acceleration
Support school based MTSS teams in development and successful implementation of their MTSS plans, processes and procedures for fidelity
Assist school leadership with planning and organizing data analysis sessions to evaluate literacy, math, and behavior intervention effectiveness
Review and analyze student data to identify students in need of support for remediation or acceleration
Identify research-based interventions for students in need of Tier 2 and Tier 3 support
Support the implementation of academic and behavioral interventions for students in Tier 2 and Tier 3 as needed
Support and conducts progress monitoring of students in Tier 2 and Tier 3 as needed
Provide staff with coaching and support related to behavior interventions, literacy by design initiatives, and math initiatives of the district as related to MTSS
Develop and deliver relevant professional learning to staff
Conduct a middle-of-the-year and end-of-the-year audit of all Tier 2 and Tier 3 students and provide relevant data/updates to schools. Follow up with support as needed.

Requirements
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard
Constant Interruptions
Hearing and speaking to exchange information
Seeing to read a variety of materials
Sitting for extended periods of time
Bending at the waist, kneeling, or crouching to file materials
Qualifications:
Must hold or be eligible for a Georgia level 4 certification
Minimum of five (5) successful years as an educator required.
Demonstrated experience in effective and rigorous instruction and intervention, to include Tier 2 and Tier 3 intervention
Demonstrated experience with leading professional development and/or program implementation
