Job description
How will this role impact First Command? The Developer I works closely with members of their team, participating in most aspects of the software development lifecycle, primarily in development, testing and support, to create solutions that meet the business need. They are self-motivated individuals that look for opportunities and are excited to grow their business and technical knowledge which in-turn allows their Agile team to deliver business value. What will the employee do in this role?
- Works alongside team members and independently to create business focused solutions for our field users, home office employees and clients
- Works with team members to investigate, debug and resolve support issues
- Focus on development, testing, documentation, and support portions of the First Command’s development lifecycle
- Preparation and Execution of tests and test plans (unit, integration and functional)
- Adheres to coding and design standards/best practices
- Communicate and work alongside members of their team in support of their day-to-day work items
- Engages business partners to gain knowledge about First Command business processes
- Attends Agile team and development group meetings
- Contributor in the Agile environment, participating in daily huddles, sprint planning, retrospectives, etc…
- Responsible for performing business and technical knowledge transfer with their peers
- Continued education to learn additional technologies, programming languages, industry best practices and tools that are needed within First Command
Requirements

Required - Bachelor’s degree Work Experience

1+ years’ experience Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Required - Knowledge of a at least one primary programming language actively used in First Command (C#, Java, Low Code, Angular, React, JavaScript, PowerShell, HTML/CSS)
- Required - Knowledge of SQL or comparable data querying language
- Required - Work alongside others and be a team player
- Preferred - Up to date with latest programming trends, techniques and technologies
- Preferred - Experience with web and cloud based technologies
- Preferred - Knowledge of Git and Development IDE, 1. A high school diploma or equivalent or ten (10) years equivalent work experience with at least 2 years of experience in collections or equivalent combination of education and experience required. 2. Experience in an office environment, preferably utilizing clerical skills, required. 3. Experience in a financial institution especially in a lending or collection department preferred. 4. Customer service experience required. 5. Ability work professionally with disgruntled borrowers and effectively protect the credit union’s assets while maintaining an extraordinary level of member service. 6. Ability to be resourceful to include finding agencies to skip-trace missing members and collateral
