Experteer Overview As Principal Staff Software Engineer in LinkedIn’s Physical Infrastructure, you define the architecture and technical strategy for platforms that plan, build, allocate, and manage global infrastructure. You will lead cross-functional collaboration with Capacity, Data Center, Hardware, Network, and Supply Chain teams to translate requirements into scalable, reliable platform solutions. You’ll focus on reducing delivery time and operational complexity while managing contracts and ensuring platform excellence. This role offers meaningful impact at scale, aligning infrastructure with business goals. Compensation / Benefits * Define long-term technical strategy and architecture for infrastructure platforms * Design end-to-end solutions for capacity forecasting, planning, procurement, and lifecycle management * Establish contracts, APIs, data models, workflows, and service levels between platforms and consumers * Drive architectural simplification and standardization across workflows * Improve reliability by identifying dependencies, failure modes, and risks across planning to deployment * Support large-scale AI clusters, new hardware architectures, accelerators, and high-performance networking * Lead architecture decisions across teams, balancing delivery with platform integrity and scalability * Identify cross-organizational gaps and align data models, interfaces, and workflows * Establish engineering best practices: testing, observability, deployment safety, data integrity, and production ownership * Contribute to designs, review code, and guide teams toward maintainable, well-tested solutions * Drive consensus in a matrixed organization and communicate decisions to stakeholders Tasks * 10+ years in software design and development with distributed systems experience * 10+ years programming in OO languages (Java, Go, C/C++, Rust, Python) * 4+ years as an architect or in a technical leadership role * BS/BA in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience) Key requirements * health and wellness programs * time away for employees * competitive compensation * stock and incentive plans * bonus opportunities * benefits package details available
