Job description

Experteer Overview In this role you will lead virtual propulsion development for GM Defense, guiding simulations from plan to results to achieve performance targets. You will quantify how engine, hybridization and electrification affect energy use, performance and drivability across configurations. You will collaborate with design, validation, suppliers, and IT to define requirements and ensure system-level performance. You will build and automate tools to streamline workflows and support GM Defense requirements. This position offers impact shaping future propulsion architectures within a mission-driven defense context. Compensation / Benefits * Lead end-to-end virtual development activities: simulation plans, model builds, analyses, and results delivery. * Quantify effects of propulsion technologies (engine, hybridization, electrification) on energy consumption, performance, and drivability for various configurations. * Analytical evaluation of next-generation propulsion architectures (ICE, HEV, BEV) to guide product concepts. * Collaborate with design, validation, architects, suppliers, IT, and other CAE teams to define requirements and integrate models. * Conduct energy and performance analyses to support deliverables and perform quick trade studies on design options. * Present analytical results to project teams and leadership. * Develop and improve processes, tools, and automation (Python, Tcl/Tk, AI/ML) to streamline workflows and meet special GM Defense requirements. Tasks * BS in Engineering * 5+ years’ experience in propulsion or related engineering * Proficient in MATLAB and Simulink * Experience with AMEsim, GT Suite, Verde or similar energy consumption platforms * Understanding of engineering mechanics, physics, and operation of engines, transmissions, drive units, electric motors, power electronics and battery technology * Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication with business partners * Independent thinking and strong teamwork * Eligibility to work in the U.S. or export control authorization Key requirements *
