Systems Engineer Section Manager

Experteer Overview In this role you will lead the Systems Engineering Section within the Huntsville SE Branch, balancing people leadership with ongoing technical commitments. You’ll manage a small team of direct reports across programs, align career growth with branch needs, and maintain staffing visibility. You’ll represent the team in interviews, onboarding, and performance discussions while collaborating with technical supervisors to ensure delivery quality. Compensation / Benefits * Manage a team of six+ direct-report Systems Engineers in a matrixed setup * Plan long-term staffing and career development for direct reports * Conduct regular check-ins to monitor job satisfaction and performance * Coordinate with direct reports’ technical supervisors to ensure performance * Manage requests for equipment and office resources * Provide weekly status reports on direct reports to the Branch Manager * Interview and onboard new SE branch personnel * Counsel employees on performance issues * Collaborate to ensure successful system integration and test activities * Support delivery through technical reviews and process adherence Tasks * ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in one of the listed engineering or computer science fields with 8+ years of experience or MS with 6+ years * Experience deriving and managing requirements for complex electrical, electro-mechanical, mechanical, and software systems * Experience creating verification and test plans and coordinating system integration and test activities * Basic understanding of interceptor systems * Experience leading cross-discipline and product teams * Strong communication skills within a team environment and during Technical Design Reviews * Resident of North Alabama or willing to relocate to Huntsville - North Alabama, AL * Active DoD Secret clearance (U.S. Citizenship required) Key requirements *
