Experteer Overview In this role you design, develop, and support embedded hardware and firmware for Nomad Total Command (NTC) and other Nomad platforms. You work across hardware, firmware, and software interfaces to ensure deterministic, reliable operation in demanding environments. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sensors, control modules, and networking, driving robust hardware solutions. The position offers a clear progression path from hands-on implementation to technical leadership and architecture oversight. Compensation / Benefits * Design, develop, and support embedded hardware and firmware for NTC and other Nomad platforms * Develop firmware in C/C++ for microcontrollers and embedded processors * Integrate sensors, actuators, networking interfaces, and operator control systems * Design and troubleshoot systems using CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet * Ensure deterministic, real-time behavior and health/status monitoring * Prototype, test, and improve NTC hardware configurations and HALs with software * Collaborate with Software Engineering to translate software commands into hardware actions * Participate in design reviews and document findings for executive reviews * Lead fault-tolerance, redundancy, and reliability improvements in embedded designs * Prototype next-generation capabilities (automation, AI, edge ML, SLAM) and assess feasibility * Support production teams with hardware bring-up, troubleshooting, and configuration * Create clear technical documentation (notes, test procedures, design docs) * Translate operational feedback into engineering improvements * Maintain Nomad Core Values and perform additional duties as assigned Tasks * Embedded systems engineering experience (varies by level) * Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded platforms * Experience with microcontrollers and embedded processors * Knowledge of CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet * Linux-based environments and Docker familiarity * Hardware integration with sensors, actuators, and networking * Ability to diagnose complex hardware-firmware-network interactions * Experience with PCB design and hardware bring-up (preferred) * Strong debugging, testing, and root-cause analysis skills * Ability to work in cross-functional teams and participate in design reviews Key requirements * Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance * Life/ADD & Short/Long Term Disability Insurance * 401(k) Savings Plan * Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) * Paid Time-Off (PTO) * Education Reimbursement
