Job description

Our client, a well-established organization in a highly regulated industry, is seeking a Data & Analytics Developer to support and enhance enterprise reporting, analytics, and data platform initiatives during a planned leave coverage engagement., This consultant will play a key role in developing and supporting Power BI and Microsoft Fabric solutions that enable data-driven decision making across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a blend of business intelligence, data engineering, and analytics experience, with strong Power BI, Fabric, and SQL expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, datasets, and semantic models.

  • Build and support Microsoft Fabric solutions, including Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, and Data Factory components.

  • Develop data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes to support reporting and analytics initiatives.

  • Translate business requirements into scalable reporting and analytics solutions.

  • Create executive dashboards, KPI scorecards, and interactive visualizations.

  • Implement and manage row-level security and data governance standards.

  • Optimize report performance, data models, and SQL queries.

  • Support enhancements, issue resolution, and ongoing maintenance of analytics solutions.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, and project resources throughout the development lifecycle.

  • Assist with enabling AI and Copilot capabilities within Power BI and Microsoft Fabric environments.

  • Participate in testing, deployment, documentation, and production support activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • 2+ years of hands-on Power BI development experience.

  • Experience creating dashboards, reports, KPI scorecards, and semantic data models.

  • Strong SQL Server experience, including query optimization, stored procedures, views, and data analysis.

  • Experience connecting to, transforming, and modeling data from multiple sources.

  • Knowledge of Power BI administration, governance, security, and report deployment.

  • Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into reporting solutions.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, and Data Factory.

  • Exposure to Azure data and analytics services.

  • Experience with dimensional modeling, fact and dimension design, and data warehousing concepts.

  • Knowledge of ETL/ELT tools and data integration best practices.

  • Experience implementing security frameworks within BI environments.

  • Exposure to AI, Copilot, or machine learning-enabled analytics solutions.

  • Scripting experience (Python, PowerShell, or similar) is a plus.
