Solution Architect

Experteer Overview In this role you will provide technical leadership and architectural guidance for the Compensation & Pension product line within the VA. You will shape end-to-end cloud-based enterprise designs and ensure alignment with VA enterprise standards in a SAFe environment. You will lead design, documentation, and release planning while coordinating with VA stakeholders. This position emphasizes clear technical storytelling and strategic planning to support government software development and sustainment efforts. Compensation / Benefits * Lead system design activities and develop system, data, process, and interface specifications * Translate requirements into architectural blueprints aligned with VA standards * Guide cloud-based development and provide technical oversight of cloud projects * Apply SAFe methodologies in design, planning, and execution * Maintain architecture documents in VA-approved repositories * Support strategic planning, risk management, and change/configuration management * Lead release planning and security architecture reviews * participate in backlog grooming, sprint planning, and agile ceremonies * Coordinate with VA stakeholders to realign priorities and delivery timelines * Draft and maintain high-quality documentation and deliverables * Support product management activities including feature prioritization and stakeholder engagement * Lead change and configuration management per VA policies * Maintain Jira boards and dashboards and ensure reporting of tasks and metrics * Serve as primary coordination point with VA Product Manager * Contribute to written documentation, presentations, and deliverables * Conduct research on special topics and recommend solutions to government clients * Stay up-to-date with VA policy and industry trends * Facilitate executive-level virtual meetings and track outcomes * Work independently to complete assignments and share best practices Tasks * Bachelor’s degree * 5-10 years of relevant experience * Experience in IT project management with a focus on solution architecture * Experience in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or VA’s cloud environments) * Strong experience implementing SAFe practices * Experience with enterprise architecture tools and repositories * Deep knowledge of systems engineering principles, requirements management, and release planning * Ability to manage multiple priorities and interface with senior government stakeholders * Familiarity with Jira and Confluence for task tracking and knowledge management * Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills; ability to write clearly for technical and non-technical audiences * Ability to self-organize, balance workload, and proactively seek assignments * Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Key requirements * paid leave * medical, dental, vision coverage * short-term and long-term disability * life insurance * AD&D coverage * legal services and identity theft protection
