Job description
The Panther Group is seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Project Manager for a 12-month contract opportunity with a leading higher education institution in Boston, MA.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead large-scale infrastructure and enterprise IT initiatives that support critical business operations. The ideal candidate is a strategic, hands-on project management professional with experience leading complex infrastructure, networking, and IT asset management projects while collaborating with cross-functional technical teams and executive stakeholders. Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of multiple enterprise infrastructure and IT projects.
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, milestones, resource allocations, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Partner with business leaders, technical teams, vendors, and executive stakeholders to drive successful project execution.
- Facilitate project meetings and communicate project status, risks, issues, and key milestones to leadership.
- Manage cross-functional teams while promoting accountability and collaboration.
- Coordinate infrastructure initiatives including networking, structured cabling, telecommunications, and technology deployment projects.
- Oversee vendor relationships and monitor project performance, quality, and deliverables.
- Support IT asset lifecycle management initiatives, including hardware refresh programs, inventory management, and device standardization.
- Assist with infrastructure planning, procurement, budgeting, and continuous process improvement.
- Maintain project documentation, lessons learned, and project reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 8+ years of progressive IT Project Management experience.
- Proven success managing large-scale infrastructure and enterprise IT projects.
- Experience managing networking, infrastructure, telecommunications, or technology deployment projects.
- Experience working with cross-functional technical teams and executive stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid approaches.
- Experience using project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or ServiceNow.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, risks, and vendor relationships., * PMP, Agile, PRINCE2, or other Project Management certification.
- Experience in higher education or another large enterprise environment.
- Knowledge of structured cabling, fiber optics, copper cabling, telecommunications, and network infrastructure.
- Experience with IT Asset Management and Device Lifecycle Management programs.
- Familiarity with UPS infrastructure and large-scale technology refresh initiatives.
- Knowledge of construction documentation, AutoCAD, blueprints, and BICSI standards.
- RCDD certification (active or inactive) or related BICSI credentials preferred.
Benefits & conditions
Pay is up to $90.91 per hour Depending on experience
