TS/SCI Software Engineer

An employer in the Dayton, Ohio area is seeking a TS/SCI-cleared Software Engineer for a contract-to-hire opportunity. In this role, you will develop and maintain backend applications, APIs, and services using Python and Flask while building secure, scalable solutions that incorporate authentication, access controls, and secure coding best practices. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and code quality processes to support efficient software delivery. Additional responsibilities include deploying and supporting containerized applications using tools such as Docker and infrastructure-as-code solutions, as well as monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, supporting incident response efforts, and contributing to Agile development activities and technical documentation. This position requires working onsite five days per week in the Dayton area and holding an active TS/SCI security clearance.

Active TS/SCI Security clearance

Bachelor’s Degree or 6 years of experience in lieu of

3+ years of software engineering experience

Strong proficiency in Python

Knowledge of containerization (Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift)

Experience working with Git

Knowledge of databases and data modeling (SQL/ORM; e.g., PostgreSQL/MySQL) Master’s degree

Experience with Go

DevOps experience

Experience with Terraform/Ansible and secret managers (e.g., Vault or cloud-native equivalents)

Familiarity with OAuth2/OIDC, SSO, and API gateway patterns

Experience with SAST/DAST/SCA tooling and SBOM practices
