Senior Network Engineer

Experteer Overview In this role you will define and lead Cisco SD-WAN architectures for enterprise environments, aligning overlay design with MPLS, Internet, and other transports. You will work across WAN, LAN, security, and cloud integrations to ensure resilient, performance-driven connectivity. You’ll guide migrations from legacy WAN and mentor engineering teams, delivering repeatable standards and thorough documentation. Compensation / Benefits * Design and define Cisco SD-WAN solutions for enterprise and mission-critical environments * Develop SD-WAN architectures across MPLS, Internet, broadband, LTE/5G, and hybrid transports * Define SD-WAN overlays across underlays and manage control/data/management planes (vManage, vBond, vSmart, WAN Edge) * Create SD-WAN policies for application-aware routing, segmentation, and SLA-based forwarding * Plan SD-WAN migration from legacy WAN to modern Cisco SD-WAN * Establish design standards, templates, validation methods, and operational handoff docs * Configure, deploy, troubleshoot, and support Cisco SD-WAN using centralized templates and policies * Support SD-WAN edge platforms (Catalyst 8000/8500, ISR, ASR, IOS-XE) * Troubleshoot control connections, tunnel formation, NAT traversal, and overlay reachability * Validate application performance across WAN transports using routing/QoS/monitoring tools * Lead high-risk cutovers, site migrations, and production troubleshooting * Collaborate with security, LAN, cloud, voice, application, and carrier teams for requirements Tasks * 10+ years of enterprise or service provider network engineering experience * Hands-on Cisco SD-WAN design, deployment, and troubleshooting * Strong understanding of SD-WAN architecture (vManage/vBond/vSmart, WAN Edge) * Experience with MPLS, Internet, broadband, LTE/5G, and hybrid transports * Solid routing expertise (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, EIGRP, route redistribution) * MPLS knowledge including L3VPN/L2VPN/VRFs/PE-CE routing * Hands-on with Cisco WAN edge/routing platforms (Catalyst 8000/8500, ASR, ISR) * Ability to troubleshoot across physical, SD-WAN, QoS, firewall, and application layers * Experience leading cutovers, migrations, and high-risk maintenance * Clear technical documentation, diagrams, and handoff materials * Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders Key requirements * Medical, dental & vision * 401(k) retirement plan * Life insurance (voluntary) * Disability insurance * HSA * Paid time off and leave benefits
