Software Development Engineer, Billing Data Services

Experteer Overview As a Software Development Engineer II on the BiDS team, you build and operate the core systems that capture, store, and serve authoritative AWS billing data. You will develop large-scale, highly available data platforms upstream of bill computation, ensuring correctness and low latency for millions of customers. You’ll work with cross-functional partners to evolve schemas and data contracts, and own the full lifecycle of the systems you build. This role offers impact across AWS billing, with opportunities to shape data quality, performance, and reliability at scale. Compensation / Benefits * Write high-quality, efficient, testable code in Java and other object-oriented languages. * Build and operate large-scale distributed systems for ingesting, storing, and serving authoritative billing data at AWS scale. * Design storage and serving paths to meet freshness, accuracy, and latency requirements for downstream pipelines. * Collaborate with downstream teams on schema and data contract changes, ensuring backward-compatible migrations. * Own and operate the systems, upholding high data quality, correctness, and operational rigor. * Contribute to planning, design, implementation, testing, operations, and process improvements within a Scrum team. * Work with product managers and engineers across Commerce Platform to deliver features and promote best practices.
