Senior Manager, Data Engineering

Experteer Overview Senior Manager, Data Engineering at Disney Experiences leads a multi-disciplinary team to operate and evolve data platforms powering immersive guest experiences across Disney’s properties. You drive reliable, secure, and scalable data infrastructure and BI tools, including Snowflake, identity resolution, and CI/CD pipelines, while translating business strategy into actionable plans. You’ll partner with cross-functional stakeholders and mentor engineers and product managers to deliver high-value, cost-efficient outcomes. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of data, platforms, and guest experience. Compensation / Benefits * Oversee design, development, and governance of platform architecture supporting BI tools, Snowflake, and identity resolution * Manage AWS-based infrastructure (EC2, RDS, serverless) and CI/CD pipelines ensuring availability, performance, security, and resiliency * Define data flow, API delivery, and storage frameworks aligned with business and technical requirements * Set design standards and QA protocols to ensure data integrity and interoperability * Translate strategy into actionable directives and adjust priorities as needs evolve * Identify and resolve operational, performance, and security issues proactively and escalate when needed * Evaluate new technologies (including AI) to advance capabilities and delivery speed * Balance cost, security, efficiency, and resiliency across architecture and operations * Partner with stakeholders to capture demand, articulate business value, and communicate with executives * Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for engineers and product managers * Foster an open, collaborative environment where ideas are debated on merit and teams are empowered * Support career development and adapt leadership style to diverse working preferences * Encourage cross-functional collaboration to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable data solutions Tasks * Minimum 10 years of related work experience with leadership of technical teams * Strong SQL and Python for data solution development * Extensive data engineering experience with Snowflake and data modeling * Hands-on AWS experience (EC2, RDS, KMS, CloudWatch, CodeBuild, ECS, MWAA, VPC, ElastiCache, ECR) * Familiarity with BI/visualization tools (SAP Business Objects, Crystal Reports, Tableau, MicroStrategy) * Experience designing and operating large CI/CD processes in big code repos * Strategic thinker who translates strategy into actionable steps with decisive execution * Track record of establishing scalable, secure, high-performance data solutions balancing cost and UX * Collaborative, open-minded leadership with coaching and people development * Strong communication skills for executive and high-pressure contexts * Practical experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Lean) for iterative delivery Key requirements * health and savings benefits * educational opportunities * special extras unique to Disney * full benefits package including medical and financial benefits * bonus and/or long-term incentive units possible
