Job description

As a Senior Software Engineer you own whole parts of the platform end to end: from the data model, through a typed API, to the screens an auditor actually uses. You ship product across our React/TypeScript frontend and typed Node backend, set technical direction, and raise the standard the rest of the team builds to.

The work is varied and moves quickly. You’ll build new products for firms who are using it on live audits within weeks, work close to the auditors who use them, and take on the harder infrastructure problems as they come.

You’ll also learn a profession. Financial audit is a genuinely deep domain and the engineers who understand it build noticeably better software than the ones who don’t. You don’t need to become an auditing expert, but you the idea of learning it should excite you.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 5+ years building and shipping production web applications
  • Deep TypeScript across the stack, with strong React and modern frontend (Vite, Tailwind, component-driven UI)
  • Solid Node.js backend experience and a taste for typed APIs - we use tRPC and Hono
  • Strong relational data modelling in PostgreSQL, and real comfort with migrations, multi-tenancy and row-level security - this sits at the centre of the work above
  • Discipline around testing and quality - Playwright, Vitest, TDD - and modern monorepo tooling (Turborepo, Biome)
  • Comfort with Docker and cloud deployment; Azure and Microsoft Entra ID are a plus
  • A new-school way of working. You are fluent with agentic coding tools, use them as a matter of course rather than as an experiment, and are opinionated about where they help and where they don’t - while staying accountable for every line that ships
  • Someone who takes real ownership, makes pragmatic calls, and works well in a small, fast-moving team
  • Bonus: Electron, or experience taking a design system from Figma through to production UI
  • Strong English; Dutch is a plus
  • Experience in fintech, audit, or other highly regulated domains is a plus.

Benefits & conditions

  • A competitive package in a growing startup
  • The real deal: enterprise grade software for a highly regulated market with a clear demand
  • Real ownership: whole domains of the platform are yours to run
  • A small, sharp team moving fast, with short lines to the founders
  • The chance to help build a European audit-technology leader and the engineering team behind it from early on.

About the company
