Expert Power Conversion Engineer - Data Center & BESS M/F

Experteer Overview In this role you will lead cutting-edge power conversion projects for Valeo’s Data Center & BESS business, balancing innovation, quality and cost. You will set design standards, safeguard IP, and guide cross-functional teams toward reliable, scalable solutions. You’ll build relationships with hyperscalers and AI companies, mentor engineers, and contribute to digitalization efforts. Pay / Benefits * Lead execution of major, innovative engineering projects with disruptive architectures * Develop and validate new design standards for Data Center & BESS Power Conversion * Identify innovation opportunities and oversee patent filing * Challenge technical decisions to ensure high product reliability * Establish budget strategies and validate cost assumptions * Serve as contact for critical issue resolution across platforms * Collaborate with thermal, mechanical, and software engineering * Build strategic client relationships and present technical vision to leadership * Participate in digitalization initiatives (automation, tool/process optimization) * Mentor and develop junior and senior engineers Tasks * Master’s degree in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Applied Physics * 15+ years of R&D/engineering experience in power conversion or complex electrical systems * Experience in automotive, data center infrastructure, BESS, energy, or high-tech industries * Strong skills in power electronics and energy conversion (AC-DC, DC-DC, high-efficiency topologies) * Proficiency with problem-solving methodologies (QRQC) and technical risk management * Familiarity with intellectual property issues (patents) and Design-to-Cost * Curious, strong interpersonal skills and team spirit; mentoring capability * Strategic vision and innovative mindset * Fluent in English Key requirements * Employee shareholding plan * Action Logement Services (housing support) * CSE holidays and activities * WFH up to 2 days per week * Company restaurant
