Oxford Brookes University is seeking to recruit an experienced, reliable, and highly motivated Data Analyst to join the Estates team. In this role, you will develop data solutions and deliver reporting that supports the effective utilisation of the Universityâs estate, while helping to advance our Smart Campus programme. As part of a motivated and innovative team, you will play a proactive role in delivering high-quality database work, analysis, reporting, and digital solutions that support key departmental objectives and wider University priorities. In the IoT and Data Solutions Architect post youâll be joining a friendly, professional environment where every member of staff is recognised as important to the success of Oxford Brookes University. This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Estates Team for our Estates & Campus Services Department. Working hours for the post of: 60 day contract with a flexible working arrangement, with the bulk of days and outputs expected to be completed by October. The working arrangements will be discussed and agreed mutually upon offer of the role. Overall Purpose of the post The post holder will play a key role in the development and delivery of the Universityâs Smart Campus programme by designing, implementing, and supporting data platforms, integration services, and analytics solutions that enable informed operational decision-making. The role encompasses database engineering, cloud and IoT data integration, data warehousing, dashboard development, and middleware design to connect building systems and campus technologies. Working closely with stakeholders across Estates & Campus Services and Information Technology Services, the post holder will help define technical architecture, establish secure data governance, evaluate emerging technologies, and develop strategic roadmaps for future digital capabilities. The role also includes knowledge transfer, user training, and technical support to ensure the long-term adoption, resilience, and continual improvement of Smart Campus solutions across the University.
Requirements

Experience required for post: Experience with database systems, cloud hosting of systems, API integration and reporting tools (e.g. Microsoft PowerBI / Grafana).
